Book of Advanced Techniques III - Delay Overwrite =============== Delay Overwrite =============== ----- Basic ----- as we know, almost all skills have after skill delay(ACD), which normally can only be reduced by bard/minstrel's poem or by using Kiel-D-01 card(ACD-30%) other than that, currently there is another way to reduce the ACD, which is by using scrolls as of now, this technique can still be used, if in later patches gravity decided to fix this, then i dunno XD the nature of scrolls is that they can overwrite any exisiting delays example: Storm Gust(SG)'s ACD is 5sec, Heal's ACD is 1sec so if u use the Heal scroll immediately after u finish casting SG, then u can use Heal's ACD to overwrite SG's ACD usage: normally wiz's AOE's ACD is longer than the Attacking time eg: SG's atk time = 4.5s, ACD = 5s LoV's atk time = 4s, ACD = 5s when a wiz is in ACD, hes practically useless, because u cant cast any skills during ACD, u can only run or use ur rod/wand to whack(sitting ducks?!) so u can use the scroll's ACD to overwrite the original skill ACD, indirectly reduce ur skill's ACD the down side of this is that u need to consume 1 scroll for every use so once u ran out of scrolls... XD -------------------- example: SG 10 > heal scroll > LoV 10 ps: more for dex wiz SG will causes the target to be frozen if the target recieved 3 hits, so u can use this technique to increase the dmg bcz u can use LoV to break the ice n thus indirectly increase the dmg note: bcz LoV is casted after SG in this case, the mobs will probably unfreeze after ur LoV note2: this technique probably got lower dmg than Fire Storm example 2: LoV 10 > heal scroll > SG 1 ps: more for agi wiz this method is to use the fast cast time of SG to let the target freeze when ur LoV is attacking, indirectly increase LoV's dmg note: bcz SG is casted after LoV, so the mobs will probably be frozen after ur SG note2: dmg wise is even lower than the previous example, but its safer bcz its LoV->SG -------------------- as of now, Healing scroll is the best option here, since Heal is instant cast & its ACD is only 1s, plus its eazy to use/obtain ------------------------- Advanced I - Level Adjust ------------------------- so what if u cant find healing scrolls? then ur next best option will be bolt scrolls like Fire/Cold/Lightning Bolt in game, we got 2 types of scroll, lv3 and lv5 scrolls for bolts now lets see: Lv5 cast time = 3.5s, ACD = 1.8s Lv3 cast time = 2.1s, ACD = 1.4s higher dex will result in shorter cast time(CT), bt seems like not much difference [CT + ACT almost equal to 4s] so here's the trick although the scrolls says its Lv3/5 scrolls, the skill lv can still be adjusted to adjust the skill lv, jz scroll down ur middle mouse(only apply to those mouse tht got middle scroll wheel, but hey now its harder to find a mouse without middle scroll XD) Lv1 CT = 0.7s, ACD = 1.0s total abt 1.7s, although not as good as Heal scroll's 1.0s, but its better than nothing ----------------------- Advanced II - Pre-input ----------------------- the concept is pretty similar with Chaining, just that chaining only applies to Water Ball and Jupiter Thunder normally the process is finish casting AOE1 > use scroll > cast AOE2 normally between [finish casting AOE1] and [use scroll], u'll waste some time on pressing the scroll, adjust the skill lv, targeting (probably around 1s) to overcome this, the technique of chaining is applied here on the scrolls eg: cast lv10 LoV > use lv3 fire bolt scroll, adjust to lv1, when cast bar is about 75% filled, click on the monster > finish casting LoV, straight auto cast lv1 fire bolt > wait for lv1 fire bolt's 1s ACD to finish > cast lv1 SG then u'll see that ur wiz cast SG when LoV is still atking, and after LoV's atk finish, SG's atk is still there Other Chapters: Book Of Techniques I - Movement Book Of Techniques II - Fire Wall Book Of Techniques III - Chaining Book Of Techniques IV - Ice Wall Book of Advanced Techniques I - Cross Fire Book of Advanced Techniques II - Fire Storm Book of Advanced Techniques III - Delay Overwrite Book of Advanced Techniques IV - Sandwich Edited by Noir Ange, 27 Aug 2008, 01:51 PM.
