Book Of Techniques IV - Ice Wall ********** [31/07/2009] v1.01 made some changes due to the changes in Malaysia server, whereby when IW is cast on self, it'll b diagonal instead of vertical ********** ========== Ice Wall (IW) ========== ps: to use IW related techniques, it is recommended that u got at least lv3 IW, so that it last long enough IW unlike FW, its a solid wall, each cast will create 5 pillars of ice although its a solid wall, it cannot block range atks the pillar of ice actually doesnt not fully occupy the cell the ice pillar actually looks like this _ _ _ _ _ ≡| | | | | notice that the left n the bottom of each pillar is not closed due to this nature, IW can be used to trap/lock monsters in it the casting of IW is almost similar to FW 789 4#6 123 if u cast at point 4, ^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ^89≡≡≡≡≡≡ ^#6≡≡or≡≡ ^23≡≡≡≡≡≡ ^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ if u cast at point 8, 2, then it'll become Horizontal Ice Wall(HIW) ^^^^^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡789≡ ≡4#6≡≡≡or≡≡≡4#6≡ ≡123≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^^^^^ if u cast on point 7, 9, 1, 3, then it'll become Diagonal Ice Wall(DIW) ≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡ ≡≡^89≡≡or≡≡78^≡≡ ≡^4#6≡≡≡≡≡≡4#6^≡ ^≡123≡≡≡≡≡≡123≡^ ^≡789≡≡≡≡≡≡789≡^ ≡^4#6≡≡≡≡≡≡4#6^≡ ≡≡^23≡≡or≡≡12^≡≡ ≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡^≡≡≡≡ ---------------- ********** [31/07/2009] when cast on self, the Ice Wall becomes diagonal instead of vertical confirmed that this happens to Malaysia server and Taiwan server Japan server remain vertical ^≡≡≡≡ ≡^89≡ ≡4#6≡ ≡12^≡ ≡≡≡≡^ ********** to lock a monster using IW, its all about timing the slower the monster move, the ezier to lock n there are 2 basic ways to lock monsters, normal lock, and reverse lock normal lock is only used against monsters coming from ur left n below while reverse lock is only used against monsters coming from ur right n above ------------ Normal Lock ------------ when monsters are approaching from ur left or bottom try to cast IW at point X, control ur casting timing, so that the IW's pillar come out right when the monster steps on point X ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡#≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ M→x≡≡≡#≡≡or≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡x≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡↑≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡M≡≡ if success, it'll b like this ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡#≡≡ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡M≡≡≡#≡≡or≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^^M^^ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ but in reality, u'll c it like this, the monster looks like its out from the ice pillar, but actually its already been locked inside ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡#≡≡ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡^M≡≡#≡≡or≡≡≡≡M≡≡ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^^^^^ ≡≡^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ remember that the pillar's left and bottom are not closed? so if there are other players who walk on the other side of the IW the monster will go n chase the other person instead to prevent that form happening, jz cast another IW on the left side of the original 1 ≡^^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡#≡≡ ≡^^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ ≡^^M≡≡#≡≡or≡≡≡≡M≡≡ ≡^^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^^^^^ ≡^^≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡^^^^^ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ by doing so, all sides of the pillar r closed, therefore unless the monster teleport/dash like a bullet, if not there is no way tht it can escape out live example: ![]() ------------- Reverse Lock ------------- if the monster is comming from ur right, then normal lock wont work remember tht the pillar's left and bottom r not closed? Wao! Thanks ya! It may be useful on my wizard. My Ice Wall is just hit the required level, level 3. And it's duration is 16 second. So, after the tehniques active, we have the enough time cast 1 circle magic to defeat it. But how if after the circle magic the monster did not die and I am on the time of delay? Just run? Too, if againsting fast movement speed monster? Timing must be good to activate? == And I have tried in Prontera server, Ice Wall can be a circle around if you cast on point 4, 7, 8, 9, 6, 3, 2 and 1(follow the sequence ). But it isn't useful since when you finish to build up 1 then 4 is almost gone, unless you leart level 10 of Ice Wall. And, can Ice Wall block M.V.P.? If can, four wizard can just make the M.V.P. wrapped in a circle just like below: ================== =W^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^W= ==^===========^== ==^===========^== ==^===========^== ==^===========^== ==^=== M.V.P.===^== ==^===========^== ==^===========^== =W^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^W= ================= W= Wizard ^ = Ice Wall So, is this possible? good to know some1 still interested in stuffs like this XD well,1st thing lv3 is a minimum to pull off any IW related techniques for starters, its recommended to get about lv4~6, especially if your dex is still low or your build doesnt hav high dex another thing is that most of the time, the higher your dex, the lower your IW lv, since u can cast faster, thrs nonid to lock the monster that long anymore another thing is that, the better you master IW-locking, the lower the lv of IW is needed I myself learned IW lv6, since i'm an AGI wiz with not that high dex (80+ total if i remember correctly, too long never login XD) n if i ever get to hi-wiz, i might lower it to lv5 or mayb lv4 ========== after cast delay is the weak spot of wiz basically u cant do anything other than run during that period or u can use magic scrolls to overwrite that delay read more about delay overwrite here: Book of Advanced Techniques III - Delay Overwrite ---------- the faster the movement of the monster, the more precise the timing of IW-lock is needed 1 thing to counter that, is to use quag mire against it to slow it down, provided you got learn it or jz let it come close n lock it(risky) ---------- there is basically nonid to cast so many IW around you XD just cast on 4, 8, 6, 2, n your already surrounded by ice pillars ---------- IW lock can b use on MVP but there is 1 problem if use on MVP most MVP got this... characteristic? when they are idle or when they got a target but they can't hit it due to obstacles, if they receive damage during this period, most of them will teleport so, unless you can solve the teleport problem, if not then IW lock can only be use to get the MVP out of your way by forcing them to teleport, but not killing them but i didnt login the game for quite some time(acc no credit XD), so i'm not sure whether there are any major changes to this or not |

gravity has indeed "nerfed" LP by allowing boss class monsters (not only mvp) to teleport on LP. This is practically just to avoid player abusing locking skills like icewall, spiderweb, etc on mvp and used long range attack to take down the mvp. More like a measure to discourage solo-ing mvp by making solo-ing not possible (not all the case though,you can still solo the mvp if you can tank it well). I don't think gravity will change this "nerf" back to stopping boss class monsters to teleport on LP. So basically now it's not possible to use such skill to stop take down an MVP. you will have to have at least a tanker tanking the mvp to avoid it from teleporting. |

About the Ice Wall Techniques, I heard my friend said that, there is already have a video record to this about this techniques in YouTube. And he had learnt it well. And those M.V.P. blocking techniques is no more, I agree. So, stop dreaming about it. Is started to think that, am I joining the wrong online game or the online game held by the wrong company. I can only see the darkness of the future of the game. Sometime, just some light crossing darkness. Even though, darkness is still most of the future. |

well, i learn those techniques(basically all except delay over write) by going thru ancient(?) articles in chinese n japanese then i got in contact with those senior wiz players in taiwan, who discovered the techniques, n learn directly from them (thru msn) those vids, i got it from them, still in my HDD XD if u wan i can upload them bt u might not understand it, since thrs no explanation on the vid bt if u search on youtube, shld b able to find also, provided u know the correct term for it ---------- well, wrg game or wrg company... i'd say wrg company XD;; JRO is doing pretty well, n they jz celebrate their 7th anniversary ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() vid(a big laggy though, cz the 1 recording, his connection not that good) click me look at wad JRO did, n look at wad we got... when is the last time we got such events with that many players participating? 4 years back? or izzit 5 years back when our server jz started? if i got the chance, i'd definately go JRO, too bad they restricted the game access to only jp ip Edited by Noir Ange, 4 Dec 2009, 05:32 AM.
