Valkyria Chronicles, known in Japan as Battlefield Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles (戦場のヴァルキュリア -Gallian Chronicles-, Senjō no Varukyuria -Gallian Chronicles-?), is a tactical role-playing game published by Sega exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and was developed by Sega WOW's Overworks division.[4] It was released in Japan on April 24, 2008. A European version was then released on October 31, 2008 before a North American version was released on November 4, 2008.
The game is set in Europa, a fictional version of Europe, in 1935. Because of its abundance of ragnite ore, which can be refined into a powerful fuel, the neutral nation of Gallia comes under attack from the East Europan Imperial Alliance, which is itself engaged in a war with the Atlantic Federation.[5] Players take control of an uprising of Gallian nationals, dedicated to repelling the invasion. The game's visuals, which feature SEGA's CANVAS graphics engine, have received a lot of attention - with CANVAS, the game's entire graphical style is built to resemble a watercolor painting in motion.[6]
Alternative title: Senjō no Valkyria -Gallian Chronicles- (Japanese) 戦場のヴァルキュリア GALLIAN♦CHRONICLES (Japanese)

However, even though they arrive in time to rescue the civlians, the Regular Army decides not to try and retake Bruhl. After not being able to get useful information from Welkin's Squad 7 subordinates, Irene finally manages to corner Welkin in the male toilet, with an unsuspecting Alicia waiting outside; Welkin then agrees to the interview. Squad 7 celebrates with a barbecue courtesy of Irene, but a fight breaks out between Faldio's Squad 1 and Welkin's Squad 7, though after a while it all settles down and both parties enjoy the feast. When the Equus is lightly damaged by planted explosives at the railway tracks, Gregor issues an ultimatum for the Gallians to withdraw from Fouzen or face the death of innocent Darcsens at their hands. During the attack, the smoke obscures the defender's aim and allows Squad 7 to breach their lines. Emboldened by the Militia's success, the Regular Army finally joins the fight and forces the Imperials to retreat. However, Rosie is wounded early in the fight and stays behind with Isara. Alicia later discovers that the rest of Squad 7, angered at Damon's actions, plan to ambush him with a hidden hole on the ground to trap him. However, Faldio manages to convince them otherwise, saying that the best way to humiliate people like Damon is keep winning battles and save Gallia.
